Winter Show 2012

On 8th December 2012 we performed our end of term Presentation to all of the Showstoppers Parents, Family & Friends.  Every class presented at least one number that they had learnt in class over the 12 week term.  There were so many children involved in the show, the only way we could fit everyone in and have enough room to get changed was to split into two groups – so two performances. In theory, this was a great idea!

However, from the teachers point of view our day went like this: Arrive, register, two hour rehearsal, not much of a break, SHOW, as show was ending next group arrive, register, two hour rehearsal, SHOW!  So it was quite a full on day! The usual Showstoppers team were all present, including Marlene (Mummy Showstopper) thankfully being there to support me, to cover all the admin, check health and safety and allow me to be free artistically to run the show…I think one day soon I will write a blog post about working with your Mum…

I was so pleased Sophie, Jamie, Jade, Rebecca & Toby were all there to support their individual classes – especially Jamie as it was his birthday!  One thing I am super proud of at Showstoppers is the pure dedication of all of the teachers who really care about their students and the quality of the material they are creating.

The show was fantastic of course!  With some very cute moments including Santa making a guest appearance in the first show!  Fave moments (there are so many) would definitely be seeing one girl read a poem aloud who one term ago would not even speak in class as she was so shy (HUGE DEAL!) and seeing new Showstoppers children perform for the first time! (and get the buzz of course!) One person missing was Micky B our Tech man as he had other commitments…some of which you can see here www.mickyb.info And so now we move onto our next project which will be our big Summer Show!  To celebrate our Ten Year Anniversary we will be performing our “TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY GALA” at The Bloomsbury Theatre in the West End!  It will be on Sunday 21st July, more details to follow but we start rehearsals in the new term. Enjoy the show photos!
